Snow-Camp offers skiing, snowboarding and Life Skills sessions to disadvantaged young Londoners. Our aim is to remove kids from the often inactive or dangerous lives that befall many on London’s urban estates, by providing them on-going access to develop their social and professional future through skiing and snowboarding.

We are a small not-for-profit organisation: Dan Charlish founded us back in 2003 and is now Managing Director, and Olivia Cheasty is the Assistant Director. They are the only two permanent staff members! As we grow, the size of the positive impact we make increases whilst we deliberately keep salaried staff to a minimum. Remaining a lean organisation ensures that the lion’s share of money we receive goes to taking our young people up to the Alps.

This support has helped us to grow quickly: In 2003, no one thought it was possible. In 2004, we took 13 kids up the mountain. Last year, that number had increased to 120. This year we have taken 400 up in two groups to Val Thoren in Feb and Les 2 Alpes in April. Over the summer, we will take another 300 on our summer programmes to indoor slopes around the Southeast! In coming seasons, we have plans to develop post-camp educational, apprenticeship and vocational programmes to help our young people develop careers with our partners in the ski and ski tourism industries. By taking the Everest Challenge, you will literally be going a long way in helping us to achieve these goals.
